The Iris Nebula NGC 7023 in RGB


This Image was taken Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September 2019, comprises of 50 Images using a Luminance Filter and 22 images using Red, Green, Blue Filters, all 180 Seconds exposure, giving a total exposure time of 5 Hours 48 Minutes.

The images are stacked using Deep Sky Stacker and processed in Photoshop C35 to bring out the captured data.

The Iris Nebula, also known as NGC 7023 and Caldwell 4, is a bright reflection nebula and Caldwell object in the constellation Cepheus. NGC 7023 is actually the cluster within the nebula, LBN 487, and the nebula is lit by a magnitude +7 star, SAO 19158. It lies 1,300 light-years away from Earth and is six light-years across.
